About Me

Chris joined W.E.L.Safe as a volunteer in 2021, while working in young adult services in Manchester. His dedication and passion saw him progress from volunteer to team leader to a full-time role within the organisation.

With a wide-ranging background, Chris brings experience in both welfare and safeguarding support, as well as events. He has worked extensively with young people transitioning out of the care and the criminal justice systems, equipping him with a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by vulnerable young people. His safeguarding experience is integral to his approach, ensuring the safety and well-being of those he works with. Chris is highly skilled in supporting individuals in difficult and high-risk situations, advocating for their safety and providing the necessary support to help them navigate these challenges.

In addition to his safeguarding expertise, Chris has held various roles in events, including technical crew, water safety, and transport logistics. His versatility in this area allows him to handle a wide range of responsibilities across events, ensuring seamless coordination and safety throughout.

At W.E.L.Safe, Chris oversees the management of kit and equipment as well as providing support to volunteers, and leading teams at events. He is dedicated to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both service users and volunteers, ensuring that everyone involved is looked after and that all welfare needs are met. Chris’s passion for both people and events plays a vital role in the success of W.E.L.Safe’s operations, and his contributions are invaluable to the organisation
