“The Welsafe team are experts at what they do. From large capacity dance events to multi day family festivals they have a network of staff and volunteers who really understand our customers. They act as vital resource keeping people from requiring more serious medical attention by stopping issues escalating . We have used their data collection app which shows exactly what issues they are dealing with show by show, what type of customers are using them and where in the venue they are coming across issues. They approach any challenge with a smile and are valuable part of risk mitigation strategy on most of our events.”

W.E.L.Safe, the renowned harm reduction and welfare support organization, has released its latest figures for 2024, showcasing another year of significant growth and impact in creating safer spaces at festivals, clubs, and community events.
Record-Breaking Welfare Support
This year, W.E.L.Safe provided welfare assistance to a huge 5,505 individuals, ensuring that those in need had access to crucial support, whether due to substance use concerns, mental health challenges, or general wellbeing.
Expanding Reach Across Borders
W.E.L.Safe’s commitment to harm reduction extended beyond the UK, as the organization provided welfare services in seven different countries, marking an increase from previous years. Additionally, they reached 18 cities, demonstrating their dedication to making a difference in diverse communities.
Strengthening Volunteer Networks
The organization welcomed 208 new registered volunteers, reinforcing its ever-growing network of passionate individuals who contribute to its life-saving work.
Safeguarding Young People
With a focus on supporting under-18s in nightlife and festival environments, W.E.L.Safe safely assisted 297 young individuals, ensuring they received the protection and guidance they needed in potentially vulnerable situations.
Thriving Event Presence
The team was actively involved in 170 events, club nights, festivals, and community days, providing onsite welfare, education, and harm reduction services to thousands of attendees.
Commitment to Education and Training
Education remained a pillar of W.E.L.Safe’s mission, with the organization delivering 19 training courses throughout the year. These sessions covered essential topics such as safeguarding, substance awareness, and welfare support, equipping volunteers and professionals with vital knowledge.
Celebrating Eight Years of Impact
2024 also marked a major milestone—eight years since W.E.L.Safe was founded. Over the years, the organization has continually expanded its services and strengthened its impact on festival and nightlife safety.
